Large Stoneware Glazed Bowl, by Tamsyn Trevorrow‍

£480.00

Submerged Wreck (2025), by Tamsyn Trevorrow‍, is a large grogged stoneware bowl with rhythmic ribbing to the well, covered in a vibrant turquoise glaze.

Tamsyn Trevorrow is a British ceramic artist whose work is deeply rooted in the elemental interplay of land and sea. Born and based near Hayle in Cornwall, her sculptural ceramics are inspired by the rugged coastal landscapes of her native region, the weathered textures of rock, the sediments of shorelines, and the restless energy of the ocean.

Tamsyn builds her pieces by hand using heavily grogged stoneware clays, coaxing the material into organic forms through coiling, slab-building, and continuous shaping. The resulting works evoke the natural rhythms of the coastline: spirals suggest movement and regeneration, while textured surfaces recall eroded surfaces shaped by wind, waves, and time.

Her practice reflects a lifetime of engagement with place and material. After studying at Falmouth College of Arts with further time on Erasmus in Limerick, she travelled widely through South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, working, studying and teaching in potteries before returning to Cornwall.

Tamsyn’s ceramics range from large-scale outdoor sculptures to intimate interior works and jewellery, each finished with rich slips and glazes that capture hues of deep ocean blues, jade, and turquoise.
