Luis Zilveti, *1941 La Paz, lives and works in Paris since 1971, Bolivian-French painter. "Mujer recostada", a formally reduced, small female nude carries a heavy object on her head with both hands, on the left of her a shelf with a cup, oil on canvas, 99 x 65 cm, verso inscribed, sign. and dated, Paris 1974


Luis Zilveti is one of the best-known Latin American modern artists and has participated in over 70 solo and more than 100 group exhibitions since 1960. His works can be found in the Museo Nacional de Arte de La Paz, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santa Cruz, the Musée d'Art Contemporain, Collection d'Art Latino-Américain, Braniff USA, the Fond d'Art Contemporain, Paris, France, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Managua, Nicaragua. In 2000 he was honoured with a retrospective "Luis Zilveti - Rétrospective 1960 à 2000" at the Musée National des Arts, La Paz
